Enjoy outdoor adventures on the American Tobacco Trail, or connect with nature at Apex’s Explore S’more event this fall. Immerse yourself in vibrant cultural festivals like the Festa Italiana, Latino Arts Festival, and Oktoberfest, offering food, music, and family-friendly fun. Take part in the thrill of Touch-a-Truck, get spooked during the Tour of Frights, or camp under the stars at Jordan Lake. For indoor entertainment, visit the Halle Cultural Arts Center for movies, concerts, and more! Here is a list of things you must do with fall weather in Apex.

Open: 8 AM to 30 minutes before sunset, Monday through Sunday, except on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.

Discover a recreational haven for outdoor enthusiasts! The ATT is a converted rail-trail, welcoming walkers, runners, dog walkers, bicyclists, and horseback riders to experience its scenic beauty. Environmental and cultural history programs are also offered. This rail-trail project spans 22 miles, from rural New Hill in western Wake County, through northeast Chatham County, to downtown Durham, near the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

Discover the most creatively creepy, eerily elegant, and fantastically festive homes and businesses in Apex, all vying for the title of most bewitching display. Come and experience the natural beauty of Jordan Lake at Poplar Point Campground! Immerse yourself in the great outdoors at Poplar Point Campground, situated on the eastern shore of Jordan Lake! Expect:

  • 579 campsites for tents and RVs, including 363 with electric and water hookups
  • Grill, picnic table, and lantern holder at each site, with some offering stunning lakefront access

But that’s not all! The recreation area boasts:

  • 7 boating access areas to launch your watercraft
  • 7 swimming access areas to cool off and enjoy the lake
  • 7 easy hiking trails perfect for families, plus more challenging trails with elevation gains up to 606 feet
  • 14,000-acre fishery with depths up to 38 feet, averaging 14 feet, for anglers to explore
