Urban Taal – Indian Classical Kathak Dance Performance (In Apex!)

Aakriti Kathak Academy presents URBAN TAAL — an evening where a classical North Indian dance form meets contemporary music and storytelling. Based in the Triangle, Aakriti Kathak Academy is a local dance school, and this performance brings together its students—ages 8 to 50—across all levels, from beginners to advanced performers. The program is designed to be accessible to all audiences, including those new to Indian classical arts. In the Triangle—home to a dense mix of cultures, disciplines, and global influences—this event is an opportunity to actively engage with that diversity. It offers a way to experience an international art form locally, while supporting a community-based organization that reflects the region’s breadth. The evening also features the presence of renowned Kathak maestro Rajendra Gangani, providing a direct link to one of the leading lineages of this global art form.
