DESCRIPTION:Course #14826   –    It’s time to chase down that Turkey at Apex Community Park on Saturday\, November 23 at 10am. The course will take you through the park and around a scenic lake. Registration opens July 22 and is limited to the first 600 individuals (the race has filled approximately one month prior to the event the last few years). \nAgain this year we will offer a RECREATIONAL division. DESCRIPTION:This event combines everything you love about our annual National Night Out event and Touch-a-Truck. Join the Apex Police Department and Apex Parks\, Recreation and Cultural Resources for an evening of ultimate fun! This is a free event for the community and no registration is required. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Details\nNational Night Out was designed to enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community under positive circumstances. National Night Out events are held in August nationwide\, however our event is held in October to beat the summer heat. There will be safety information and displays\, as well house games and lots of interactive activities. \nTouch-a-Truck allows children to get in the driver’s seat with a free hands-on experience with vehicles of all kinds. We will have local representatives and their vehicles from emergency\, construction\, landscaping\, military\, transportation\, and delivery all in one place! Children will be allowed to touch\, climb on\, and ask questions about their favorite trucks and cars in a safe and supervised environment. \n\nKnow Before You Go:\n\nHorn free hour is from 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm for those that may be sensitive to loud sounds and sirens.\nThis is a rain or shine event – be prepared for all weather!\nAdult supervision is required.\nThere are no road closures during this event\, but some parking on campus may be closed to vehicle traffic. View the downtown parking map for walkable parking locations.\nTown staff may be on site during the event to take photos/videos

DESCRIPTION:This long-standing traditional event features games for all ages\, inflatables\, the Parade of Wheels\, and ends with a splash down from the Apex Fire Department!  (Vendors\, use this link to apply to participate.) \nThis year’s event features: \n\nFood trucks including Bobasaur\, Cream and Sugar\, D&J Concessions\, Stick Happens\, Peach Cobbler Factory\nPerformers including Funk Nation\, Flow Circus\, Uncle Sam stilt walker\, Lady Liberty\, Pop Up Circus\, and Interactive Hula Hoop\n\nSchedule of Events\n\n9 am: Flag Raising / Mayor’s Speech\n9:15 am: Activities begin (inflatables\, giant slide\, ice cream & other food vendors\, face painting\, karaoke contest\, carnival games and more!)\n11:30 am: Parade of Wheels line-up \nKids are invited to decorate bikes\, wagons\, tricycles\, or other non-motorized vehicles in red\, white\, and blue. The Parade starts at the corner of Salem Street & Chatham Street. Helmets are required. Register to receive updates due to weather here!\n12 pm: Parade of Wheels\nFire Department Splash Down will immediately follow the Parade! This closure includes the skate park\, dog park\, and fields.\nFrom 3:00 pm to 10:30 pm\, Town Hall Campus will only be accessible from the Mason Street entrance.\nAccessible parking will be available at Town Hall Campus\, with the closest parking at Town Hall (73 Hunter Street).\nBeginning after 5 pm: Spectators can set up chairs along Ambergate Station (outside of the fireworks safety perimeter)\, at the Hunter Street Park soccer field\, and along Hunter Street between Salem Street and Mason Street.\nNeighborhoods in the immediate area and throughout Apex may see the display and/or hear fireworks as they explode. Please plan accordingly if a member of your household is impacted by bright lights or loud noises.\nMake sure to observe all parking rules so that everyone can have safe access to homes and buildings in the event area. Street parking must allow for passage of emergency vehicles. Parking is NOT allowed within: Travel lanes of the roadway\, 15 feet of a private driveway\, 15 feet of a crosswalk\, 25 feet of an intersection of two roads\, 30 feet of a stop sign or stop light.\nNo pets\, alcohol\, smoking\, tents\, or personal or commercial fireworks / sparklers are allowed at this event.\nChairs for the public will NOT be provided as part of this event.\nTown staff may be on site during the festival taking photos/video of festival events and attendees.
